I describe my work as vaguely surreal, bleakly erotic and darkly off-kilter, as if pulling back a curtain to reveal a parallel universe of sultry, beautiful people, trapped in some unknowable dream. there is an undercurrent of tension and menace, fuelled by looping repetitive themes: nails, tongues, vomiting black oil, crying blood, nosebleeds, levitation, kitchen knives, severed heads. the faces are unsmiling, icy, giving nothing away, letting the viewer do all the hard work.

many thanks to jason arber for providing access to the images for this post!

I love these beautiful and crazy images
especially women, face to face
and the woman who holds a head
and I like the title much
