collector 2007 - 2008
80 x 80 x 10 inches wood construction
originally exhibited at davidson galleries, seattle, WA
the sculpture was initially anchored to the bottom of wilapa bay on the washington coast for 16 months. in 2008 collector was removed from the bay and mounted to the front of my truck (then moved to the top of the vehicle after law enforcement intervened.) the sculpture was driven 1500 miles to the canyons of escalante in southern utah. designed to break apart within a slot canyon by floodwater, the structure was instead picked clean by birds on the open mesa.
